FACE - Family Aid Catholic Education 

FACE provides need-based tuition grants to students who attend Catholic schools in the Diocese of Oakland.

FACE was founded in 1978 and helps students regardless of religion, gender, ethnicity, or citizenship. We hope to support over 700 students every school year. The recent success of our annual Gala and donated funds increases the number of grants given each year.

The promise of Catholic education is the full development of the whole person through faith formation opportunities and a rigorous academic curriculum that instills students with the community values of hard work, faith, respect, self-worth, compassion, and service. FACE provides critical student support resources, for many, as the first generation of their families to receive a quality education that paves the way for higher education opportunities and beyond. FACE families come from neighborhoods where adversity is high. Sadly, in these same communities, hope, and the expectation of a change for the future, is low. With the gift of a Catholic education, students are not only able to endure and overcome many obstacles, but grow and thrive in the years to come.

The BASIC Fund

Thee BASIC Fund has a clear vision to open the door to as many families in need as possible. In the Bay Area, there are thousands of empty seats in private and parochial schools – schools which lead to graduation rates of more than 95%. We can fill those seats!

Founded in 1998 by Jim McCarthy, Arthur Rock, and the late John Walton, the organization helps low-income Bay Area families find viable education alternatives for their children. The Founders’ vision was to offer children of low-income families a solid foundation in their early education. Further, that the best way to achieve this was to partner with three main stakeholders: parents, children, and schools.

Pass It On Fund

The Pass It On Fund is dedicated to helping families that would like to join our community, do so. We issue partial tuition grants that can work in conjunction with other financial aid assistance. The Pass It On Fund tuition grants will be issued until your student graduates from the School of the Madeleine, as long as you continue to qualify. We follow the US Department of Housing and Urban  Development (HUD) guidelines. If you qualify for FACE assistance, you will also qualify for Pass It On Fund assistance. We have a limited number of grants that can be dispersed each year.  We look forward to seeing how we can help!
